Ok, I am 5'1, a size 6 and truly curvy. That is, I have a very small waist and generous butt and thighs. I also abhor low-rise jeans which tend to cut into ANY belly you might have. I had given up on jeans because without fail every pair is either too stiff, too stretchy, too straight, too narrow in the thigh or too full in the thigh, too low or too high, cuts into your belly or is too loose and doesn't hold you in, etc. These fit PERFECTLY. They hit the perfect spot just below the waist and there is NO gap in the back. Which also means they don't slide down on your hips!!! They come up to just below the navel which means they really help "suck in" whatever might need it yet if you wanted to wear something tucked in with a cute belt, it doesn't look like they are high-waisted. The length is perfect on me but I usually wear some kind of 3-4 inch heel with most pants and they are the exact length with no need to hem. These definately run short if you are a tall person or average and plan to wear a heel. I just love these and wish they came in more colors or made a true "pant" in this cut.
